ZARA is a new digital release by saxophonist Sarah Hughes. Join Sarah and ensemble members as we celebrate the album by letting it play. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Download cards as well as Sarah’s visual art creations will be available for purchase at the event.
Zara is an avant-garde punk jazz septet comprised of Hughes on soprano saxophone, Bobby Muncy on alto saxophone, Abram Wolfe Mamet on french horn, Patrick Crossland on trombone, Jamie Sandel on electric violin and pedals, Steve Arnold on electric bass, and Nate Scheible on drums. The music is a mixture of composed structures and experimental and free jazz improvisation.
