The purpose of this workshop is to teach children about contour drawing, visual style, and the creative potential of the risograph machine by inviting them to collaborate on a series of Pokémon-inspired posters and cards. Children will illustrate their favorite characters and imagine/invent new Pokémon characters of their own to be included in a collaborative print. They will learn the basics of contour line drawing, character design, and collage. The intended outcomes are that children and their families have a joyous experience drawing, imagining, and creating– and that they each get to take home some risograph prints of their own!

What you’ll learn: contour drawing in illustration, character design, and the collage to risograph process.
Who this course is for: Children ages 6-12 years-old! No previous art experience or knowledge of Pokémon is required.
What you’ll need: An open mind and an interest in drawing or collage.
