Cathode Ray Crash Course
Wed, May 27 at 7:00 PM
The Active Space
Get a crash course in how cathode ray tube televisions work, their history in media artworks, and how to manipulate them. We’ll be taking apart several televisions, examining their circuits, discussing how basic repairs, hacks and circuit bending can be done, and playing with magnets.
This workshop will be taught by Emma Dickson, a media art jack of all trades. They make net art and new media sculptures as an artistic practice and work at Canyon New Media Art Conservation Center as a conservation technician.
This event will run from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at TELEPATHY in Bushwick, near the Jefferson L station.
Once you submit this RSVP you will receive an email with further instructions.
